1:oo p.m. Experience high tea as the Crawleys would have with authenic British recipes and customs. Come dressed for the event or borrow a hat and gloves upon arrival. There might even be a visit from a Crawley or two. Cost: Hllforest members $28, non-members $30.

1:00—5:00 p.m. Hillforest thanks the community for their support with a reduced admission price of $1.00 to visit the museum. Bring the whole family to tour Hillforest!
  14Harris Cabin Pioneer Day
9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Celebrate Indiana's Bicentennial by exploring early 1800's history, crafts, and culture during this specail FREE family-friendly event at Hillforest and next door Harris Cabin. Early pioneer crafters & presenteres include: spinner, blacksmith, potter, hair weaver, quilter, pioneer gardener, basket weaver, fracktur artist, early trasportaion, cooking, clothing, and goat farming. Come and experience what it was like to live in early Indiana. Hands-on activities and Pioneer games will be available for children to enjoy. The Harris Cabin restoration and Pioneer Day is an offical Indiana Bicenntennial Legacy project. Pioneer Day was made possible by a grant from the Dearborn Community Foundation's Sprint Education Excellence Grant Program.

  13 - 14\"Hoosier Time Travelers\" Camp for Kids
2-days. Hillforest and the Harris Pioneer Cabin if offering a NEW camp to celebrate Indiana's 200th birthday! Utilizing a scavenger hunt approach, the "Hoosier Time Traveler" campers will be challenged to "race" through history to find answers to clues, do chores of the past, pick up objects found on lists, all while hiking through Historic Aurora. Time Travelers will learn about historic architectue and crafts from 1800's through the early 1900's. So, travel back in time as the pioneer hoosiers and explore their life & times in early Indiana. Cost: $25 per child

  2INDIANA...The Best of the Midwest!
6:30 p.m.—10:30 p.m. Celebrate Indiana's Bicentennial with an evening of hometown fun on the lawn of Veraestau. Delicious country dishes, wine, live musical entertainmnet, and much more will be featured. Come for the party...stay for the show as the evening will end with a "BANG" with the viewing of Aurora'a Fourth of July fireworks display at 10:00 p.m. from the greatest vantage point in all Aurora. Reservations required. Cost: Hillforest Members $45.00, Non-members $50.00. Hillforest thanks Indiana Landmarks Foundation for hosting this event at Veraestau.   more info

9:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Girls ages (5-14) will have a great time learning of the history of the “American Girl” doll series, making a fun craft for themselves and their doll, and participating in a little lady tea. 11:00 a.m. Kids ages 5-12 will enjoy a fun-filled tea featuring teddy bear treats, touring Hillforest decorated for the Christmas, and creating a take home teddy bear ornament. Cost $15 per person. Families with 3 or more children will receive a discount. Reservations required.
